T- Slots are handy for making timber jigs and templates. Invert a small bolt-head or screw-head into the groove; the projecting thread can then be used for further anchorage. Also useful for mountable wall shelves and wall displays; the slotted wall board provides numerous fixing possibilities. The RouterCutter Team recommends that the bulk material from the slot be removed using a straight cutting bit first. This will increase the life of your more costly t-slot router bit by making it work less – also achieving a faster feed rate and minimising heating of the cutting tips.
Note: Not recommended for plunging.
