Vertical raised panel router bits offer a method of cutting full size raised panels with a smaller diameter router bit. The smaller diameter router bit requires less horsepower from the router.
Vertical raised panel bits are usually run in a router table with the timber panel standing on edge and the face of the panel against the fence. The fence must be tall enough to fully support the panel.
Use on straight sided panels only since there is no bearing guide for arched or cathedral style doors.
There are 4 profiles available in the Whiteside vertical panel bit range:
1. Cove (Whiteside 5801)
2. Straight (Whiteside 5802)
3. Ogee (Whiteside 5804)
4. Ogee Bead (Whiteside 5805)
Suitable for manual feed router applications; we recommend using the 5801 in a router table.
All Whiteside’s cutting tips are hand brazed, precision ground and made from industrial grade micro grain tungsten carbide. All proudly machined in the USA.
