Standard or Reverse Glue Joint

Recommended material thickness = 12.7mm to 30.16mm (1/2” to 1-3/16”).
Whiteside 3354 standard router bit or also known as a reverse glue joint router bit provides a locking key and greater glue area. The reverse glue joint therefore provides good strength when joining timber pieces side-to-side or end-to-end.
One tool makes both cuts and is designed for the router table; one length of stock will be routed face up and the adjoining stock face down. Only one set up is required to cut both adjoining pieces.
Success with Whiteside 3354 depends on accurate cutter height set-up, the midpoint of the cutter must align exactly with the mid point of the work piece edge. Achieving the perfect joint will require dialling-in the cutting height of the bit above the router table and making test cuts, test pieces should be kept for future projects.
