Down Cut Roughing Spiral 3 Flute (Hogger Bit)
Product Description
Whiteside’s solid carbide 3 flute roughing spirals (also called Hoggers) are designed for high feed rates on CNC routers. The roughing spiral is generally used as the ‘workhorse’ bit, removing the bulk of the cut before running the finishing cut with a profile bit and thereby extending the work life of the profile bit. The advantage of using roughing spirals is the higher feed rate, smooth cutting in heavy cutting conditions and the extended working life. This tool will produce a rough or rippled edge finish which might suit many mortise applications where finish is of lesser concern. Use on dense materials like plywood or hardwoods.
Compatible with CNC, hand held and table mounted routers.
