90º V-GROOVE FOR ALUMINIUM COMPOSITES (FOLDING 90º CORNERS)
Product Description
90º V-groove for aluminium composite material (ACM) bending and folding up to 90º corners. Aluminium composite materials can be shaped and bent by folding the panel along the exact cut line of the routed v-groove.
The ACM V-groove bit is designed to cut through one aluminium skin and only part of the internal core material, importantly, the v-groove should not fully sevre the internal core material thus maintaining thermal/fire-resistance continuity.
The aluminium composite materials (ACM) are made with a mineral filled centre core, the core is laminated on both sides with thin aluminium foil. The thickness of the foil is generally 0.3mm to 0.5mm thick and the cores can be fire-resistant mineral-filled, non-combustible high-filled mineral or lightweight material such as honeycomb.
There are also variations of ACM panels in the market place with polyethylene cores.
Our ACM router bits are designed for cutting ACM only, not for cutting solid aluminium.
