The Whiteside overhang trim bit allows laminates or veneers to be trimmed down to 3.18mm or 1.59mm (1/8” or 1/16”) from the edge of the work piece – thus creating an overhang as well as reducing the size of the work piece and making it more manageable. The final pass can now be made using a standard flush trim bit; tear-out and chipping is thus minimized. The overhang trim bit can also be used for template or pattern routing.
The bearings are supplied and recommended by Whiteside for routing applications. Supplied bearings are made from steel and have metal shields. The metal shield bearings should be lightly lubricated from time to time to enhance their performance and longevity.
Additional bearing options are available and are sold as accessories; includes options:
U (undersized for resharps)
S (non-mar nylon sleeved)
T (Teflon® Shields) – self lubricating - no lubrication required
SQ (Euro Square Teflon®)
Compatible with hand held and table mounted routers.
All Whiteside’s cutting tips are hand brazed, precision ground and made from American industrial grade micro grain tungsten carbide.
